The Schultz & Company Irrigation Manager will work under the direction and guidance of the Maintenance Department Leader to oversee and manage routine irrigation system maintenance as well as repair to existing irrigation systems on customer properties. The ideal person for this role loves leading a small team, solving problems, and ensuring all the details that set high-quality service apart are taken care of.
Responsibilities
- Manage irrigation service department including Irrigation Technician(s)
- Schedule irrigation department for regular visits to contracted irrigation system customers
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on all irrigation systems
- Troubleshoot and repair irrigation system functionality
- Maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and tools for repairs
- Program customer irrigation system technologies to optimize water usage and system performance
- Prepare irrigation data for estimates and billing
- Track properties visited, work performed, billable time, material costs, and system statuses
- Conduct safety trainings and oversee safety or irrigation department
- Communicate with landscape department, maintenance department, customers, and vendors
Qualifications
- Licensed Irrigator
- Ability to lead team members effectively
- Ability to understand customer needs and meet customer expectations
- Ability to operate, repair, and maintain irrigation system equipment
- Knowledge of residential irrigation systems
- Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing English (any fluency in Spanish is a plus)
- Valid Texas drivers license with a maintained good driving record
Work Environment
- Generally an in-the-field role working in a vehicle and outdoor environments
- Requires prolonged periods of walking, driving, and being outside in central Texas weather
- Requires ability to bend, stand, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate irrigation equipment
